Play’n GO are celebrating the run-up to Christmas by turning up the volume with a weekly reminder of their star-studded line-up of iconic music-themed slots.
First up is Def Leppard Hysteria, where the legendary band rocks the reels.
Formed in the mid-1970s in Sheffield, England, this multi-platinum band are true musical legends. Known for their influential role in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement with their blend of hard rock and glam metal.
The band’s classic line-up includes Joe Elliott, Rick Savage, Rick Allen, Phil Collen and Steve Clark. And Hysteria, their ‘magnum opus’, was released on August 3, 1987. This classic album took over three years to complete due in no small part to drummer Rick Allen’s car accident, which resulted in the loss of his left arm. Despite this horrific setback, Allen continued to play using a specially designed electronic drum kit.
Hysteria features seven hit singles, including Pour Some Sugar on Me, Love Bites and, of course, Animal. The record hit No.1 on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Album Chart and has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, remaining one of the best-selling albums of all time.
And it gets a special mention in Global Gambling News because of this concert ticket:
On February 18th, 1980, I was working at the Charnwood Theatre in the English university town of Loughborough, whilst still at school. The best job I had was organising the ‘rider’ for visiting performers. On this day, it was a new young band from Sheffield. At the end of their set, on my way to be on hand in their dressing room, I picked this ticket off the auditorium floor and asked them to sign it for me. And, having looked after them all day, they duly obliged.
The cool thing about it, apart from how huge they went on to become, is that the price of admission was just £1.50… that is US$1.92, or €1.80…!
