Armijn Meijer and Dominique van der Geer placed their names in The Guinness Book of World Records by visiting 110 casinos in 24 hours.

Old Record for Most Casinos Visited in 24 Hours Falls

Armijn Meijer and Dominique van der Geer, a couple from the Netherlands, just set a new world record for most casinos visited in 24 hours. They managed to visit a total of 110 Las Vegas venues in the designated period. Their triumphant lap also included some very popular places on the Strip such as Caesars Palace, Golden Nugget, and Park MGM. In fact, the duo broke the record with a few hours to spare, reaching their goal in about 21 hours instead.

The whole activity was streamed on the couple’s YouTube channel. For the record to be set, The Guinness Book of World Records rules state that the participants must play at least one table game in each venue for it to be counted towards the goal. The Dutch couple actually broke the previous record of 74 visited casinos, set by Americans Kimo Ah Yun and Gary Meyer, with about five hours left on the clock.

How the Record Was Set

Armijn Meijer and Dominique van der Geer had an entire team behind them and a detailed plan for the record attempt. They planned to use various SUVs and even a few helicopter rides to get around Las Vegas and be able to visit as many venues as possible.

The couple was supposed to spend about four and a half minutes at each casino, however, this period varied in practice. But the routine in each casino was straightforward. They would walk in, throw in $5, hit the button, grab their vouchers, take a picture holding their vouchers, and race to the next stop.

Sometimes the duo would mix things up by playing video roulette. On other occasions, they would surprise other patrons with gifts. For example, one woman received $50 for correctly guessing Armijn’s favorite number, while another casino guest won a free $25 bet by choosing one of three “Golden Envelopes.”

In the end, the two Dutch players spent $1,100 and managed to rake in winnings of about $600. While the official numbers will take some time to be finalized, Meijer said that the biggest wins were $77 for her and $67 for van der Geer.

Meijer and Van der Geer’s supporting team also had some fun while the record was being set. They had set up a Bingo game with various things they would spot in Las Vegas such as a police car with flashing lights. If they saw something that was on the Bingo card, they would mark it down. In addition, team member Monica added some flair to the record-setting run by dressing up in different outfits, including one of Wonder Woman.

Meijer said they could have visited more casinos, however, they chose not to as it was important to keep things fun and safe.
