Aussie Woman Wins $100M Oz Lotto Jackpot, Says She’s Done Working

The lucky woman from Sydney holds the single division one winning entry on Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto draw, becoming the winner of the largest individual lottery prize from the game in the country

A New South Wales, Australia resident, was about to fall asleep when she saw she had several missed calls. Her phone rang once again and when she picked it up, she was shocked to realize that she had just won Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto draw for a mind-blowing prize of AU$100 million ($62.8 million).

Single Division One Entry in NSW Wins Oz Lotto’s Top Prize

On Tuesday evening, Oz Lotto’s 1616 drawing took place. The draw saw winning numbers 3, 34, 35, 26, 44, 39 and 36, as well as supplementary numbers 5, 45 and 6 drawn. While many tried their luck for the sweet top prize of AU$100 million ($62.8 million), there was a single division one winning entry.

The winning ticket belongs to an Elizabeth Hills woman who purchased her winning 50-game QuickPick entry from The Lott’s official website. Winning the mind-blowing top prize, the incredibly lucky woman, whose name was not publicly released, became the winner of the largest individual lottery win from Oz Lotto in Australia.

Besides the division one winning entry, the drawing produced a total of 1,881,633 wins within divisions two to seven on Tuesday night. Overall, winners across the country collected more than AU$42 million ($26.4 million) from winning entries from the lottery game’s latest drawing.

In addition to the top prize winning entry, a total of 26 fortunate players scored division two winning entries. Each of the division two winners won a sweet prize of AU$59,597.70 ($37,400).

In FY24, there were a total of 16 Oz Lotto division one winning entries. Out of that total, most entries arrived came from players in New South Wales, 10 in total, while three entries came from Queensland. On the other hand, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania recorded a single winning division one entry for the aforementioned period.

The Elizabeth Hills woman who was contacted by an official from The Lott initially asked: “Who is this? Why are you calling this late?” The call was indeed late in the evening on Tuesday and once the woman was told about the win, she initially couldn’t believe it. “What the hell! Can you repeat that? Oh my god! Don’t lie to me! You better not be pranking me! I don’t know whether to believe you or not,” the winner of the single division one entry said.

“I still feel like I’m being pranked or I’m dreaming… Thank you so much. I probably won’t sleep tonight. I’ll have to check again in the morning to make sure I’m not dreaming,“

After a few moments, the woman tried to calm down and revealed that she saw missed calls earlier but was unsure who may be calling her at 10 PM. The Sydney resident said that she was in fact worried if something had happened and somebody was trying to reach her. Asked if she plays the lottery regularly, the Elizabeth Hills woman said that she participates when there’s a big jackpot and the AU$100 million Oz Lotto top prize captured her attention.

Winning the jackpot is going to bring significant changes to the daily life of the lucky winner. The woman, without going into much detail, said that she would buy a place of her own. She also admitted to planning to go on holiday and treat herself. Not unexpectedly, the Sydney resident said that while she loves her job, she won’t need it anymore. “It’s actually really nice to think that I won’t need to work,” she admitted.
