The French National Gaming Authority, l’Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ), has asked the iGaming sector to review and reduce its 2025 promotional spending having revealed that this is expected to rise by 11% in the coming year.
This follows an examination of France’s 16 licensed online operators as well as those of the La Française des Jeux (FDJ) monopoly and horse-racing focused Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU).
Based on its findings, the ANJ has called on the four biggest operators to moderate their sponsorship spending in order to limit potential impacts on problem gamblers and minors.
The 16 operators, plus the FDJ and PMU, have been instructed to present their proposed alterations to the ANJ by February 17th, in order to ensure this requirement has been effectively adhered to.
