Hard Rock Casino Rockford, the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s new property in Illinois, is celebrating its opening. At the same time, the local public transportation provider agreed to serve the casino, making it more accessible to those who don’t drive.

Hard Rock Casino Rockford Opens

Hard Rock Casino Rockford is Hard Rock International’s latest property. Having just welcomed its first guests, the casino unveiled a myriad of wonders.

Equipped with some 1,300 slot machines, 50 table games, a poker room and a Hard Rock Bet sportsbook, the casino will enhance the region by creating hundreds of new jobs and providing new tourism opportunities. Despite having just opened its doors, Hard Rock Casino Rockford is still hiring. The property is in need of additional dealers, cashiers, supervisors, security officers, attendants, servers and bartenders.

In addition to that, the casino features a 23,000-square-foot convert area that can accommodate as many as 2,000 guests, as well as a rental area for private events. The property also has six restaurants and bars, ensuring that guests never go hungry or thirsty.

No matter the facilities, a casino is nothing without its visitors. Because of that, Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) agreed to serve the property, re-routing several of its bus lines.

RMTD Agrees to Serve the Property

RMTD is Rockford’s public transportation provider. As agreed, it will start serving Hard Rock Casino Rockford from September 1.

RMTD officials explained that several buses will have their usual routes slightly changed in order to serve the casino. Additional new stops will include Rockford University, and the AMC movie theater, and both the Linden & Sandy Hollow Road corridors between Alpine and Mulford.

The change was prompted by community feedback, which requested access to additional facilities.

The service changes are a result of ongoing rider and community feedback that RMTD has received. RMTD anticipates the changes will improve access to employment, educational, health and retail opportunities for the community, while further helping to eliminate transportation barriers for those who are challenged with them.

RMTD statement

Speaking of Hard Rock, a fortunate gambler just won almost $1 million at the Hard Rock Atlantic City. The lucky player, trying their hand at three-card poker, drew one of the rarest hands in the game: a Royal Straight Flush.
