International Game Technology’s flagship Wheel of Fortune and Powerbucks slots paid out four life-changing jackpots in January, each exceeding the million-dollar mark
Global gaming leader that delivers entertaining and responsible gaming experiences for players across all channels and regulated segments, International Game Technology (IGT), is once again in the spotlight thanks to its flagship slots.
In January, the popular Wheel of Fortune and Powerbucks games paid out no less than four life-changing jackpots. Each exceeded the million-dollar mark.
Online and Offline Winners
These wins brought fortune to players across North America, with the four prizes recorded within just a few weeks.
The good fortune at the start of the year follows the four seven-figure jackpots awarded in December via the same flagship titles.
The first major win of the month occurred on January 9 when a lucky player at Encore Las Vegas hit the jackpot while playing Wheel of Fortune Diamond Spins 2X Wilds.
This player walked away with a staggering $1,183,314. Just two days later, on January 11, another jackpot was claimed by a Powerbucks player in British Columbia.
The fortunate player won CA$1,132,698 (US$792,480) while spinning the reels of Wheel of Fortune Elegant Emeralds online.
The big wins didn’t stop there. On January 14, a player at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, struck it rich with an incredible $1,374,170 while playing one of IGT’s slots games.
Later in the month, on January 19, another online Powerbucks player in Quebec secured CA$1,000,000 (US$699,640) while playing Wheel of Fortune Ruby Riches.
1,200+ Wheel of Fortune & 63 Powerbucks $1M+ Jackpots Paid
These wins are just the latest in a long line of massive payouts associated with IGT’s iconic Wheel of Fortune slots.
Since its launch in 1996, the game has turned over 1,200 lucky players into millionaires and awarded a remarkable $3.6 billion in jackpots.
Nonetheless, in November 2024, IGT faced legal trouble as several plaintiffs accused its Wheel of Fortune slots of being misleading.
The complaint also involved a few big operators, stating the iconic games trick players into thinking that they have a high chance of scoring a massive win.
Powerbucks, which debuted in Canada in 2016, has also proven to be a major jackpot generator, having already paid out 63 jackpots of $1 million or more.
“Since their inception, both Wheel of Fortune and Powerbucks slots have been synonymous with life-changing wins, and January’s jackpot results highlight the ongoing appeal of these games,” an IGT spokesperson said.
Players continue to be drawn to the excitement of these games, drawn in by the possibility of joining the fortunate roster of slot game millionaires.
