Casinos in Mississippi have handed millions of dollars in prizes to lucky casinogoers in 2024. Some of the luckiest players for the year won sums north of a million dollars, SunHerald reported at the end of the year.
Many Players Won Significant Sums
The largest jackpot for the year was won by a player at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi. At the start of the property’s 25th anniversary celebrations in March, an anonymous player won $1.25 million from a Wheel of Fortune slot. A month and a half later, another player won $1.2 million from a Dragon Link slot at the same property, shortly after a separate player scooped up a $200K prize.
The summer season was rich in jackpots as several players won jackpots ranging from $50K to almost $500K. On June 13, a Hard Rock Casino Biloxi player secured $160K. Five days later, a different player won $162K at IP Casino Biloxi. June 24 saw Harrah’s Gulf Coast hand the biggest prize for the month ($480K) to a lucky poker player. Then, on June 28, three slot players hit jackpots of $49K, $86K and $99.8K.
The following month was also a lucky one with three players winning $205K, $290K and $160K on July 21, 25 and 31, respectively.
August was a drier month that saw a single player win $100K playing a top Dollar machine at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. In September, an IP Casino Resort player won $126.5K from the Dollar Storm slot.
October saw jackpot activity rebound. On October 8, Greatness Reinvented, a YouTube content creator, won almost $150K while hiding from Hurricane Milton at Beau Rivage. Several days later, an IP Casino visitor won a staggering $319K from a $1 bet on Pai Gow Poker. On October 18, a visitor from Texas won a separate $206K jackpot at the same property.
In November, two people won jackpots of $401.6K and $122K at Scarlet Pearl Casino and Beau Rivage respectively. Finally, a Florence woman won $163.8K on a $50 wager at Beau Rivage.
Mississippi Players Could Win More in 2025
In total, Mississippi casino handed $5.95 million in jackpots over $100K. There were a total of 17 such wins for the year.
