Visitors to the off-Strip resort recently complained about issues with elevators at the property
Elevators are an inseparable part of high-rise buildings. In the event of emergencies such as fires, earthquakes or other natural or man-made disasters, stairs are used considering that elevators may be unreliable under such conditions. Still, nobody wants to climb hundreds of steps to their hotel room, and this is exactly the case for Las Vegas guests on vacation. At one off-Strip hotel-casino, guests have reportedly complained about inconsistent elevator service.
Issues with Elevators Result in Complaints
This was the case for visitors at Oyo Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, who filed complaints with different Clark County departments over unreliable elevator service, as announced by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Per the recent reports, guests frustrated with the inconsistent elevator service at the off-Strip hotel-casino addressed their concerns by filing complaints with different departments in July as well as September.
It is currently unclear how many elevators were in working order and how many were non-operational. The hotel-casino has also not publicly addressed the issue nor pointed to a reason behind the reported outages.
Oyo is a popular hotel and casino resort located on 115 E Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. The off-Strip hotel casino offers a range of amenities, including hotel accommodation, dining, entertainment and others. The venue has a 30,000-square-foot casino gaming floor offering popular games such as craps, blackjack, roulette, as well as slot machines and a William Hill-branded sportsbook.
Guests Mention Issues with Elevators in Reviews
Reviews of Oyo Hotel & Casino on Tripadvisor also pointed to issues with the elevator service at the property. One guest from Chicago, Illinois wrote recently: “Elevator was out a whole day. I was on 9 floor. No one who worked for the casino also didn’t know if or when the elevators were or if it even was going to be fixed.”
Another guest who visited the off-Strip hotel-casino earlier this month was also dissatisfied. The person pointed to issues with the elevators, poor casino ventilation and housekeeping.
A separate review from earlier this month once again mentioned inconsistent elevator service, among other issues. “Believe what you read in reviews about the elevator! They only had the service elevator working for all 19 floors,” wrote the customer from Sarasota, Florida, who left a three-star review. The same guest argued that the service elevator was able to transport only 6 guests at a time.
To make matters worse, the guest said that upon returning to the hotel on a Saturday evening, the single elevator that was working before broke down. On the next day, the service elevator remained out of order, but another lift was working, a single one for the whole hotel-casino.
On the bright side, the customer wrote that the place was clean, quiet and had easy access to the Las Vegas Strip. A response to the review of this guest submitted by Oyo read: “We apologize that your stay with us did not exceed your expectations. We appreciate your candid feedback.”
