Big news is coming from New Jersey this week, as Virgin Casino, the iconic Internet casino and iGaming pioneer, has decided to rebrand itself in what many have seen as a clever marketing move, adopting the name “Monopoly Casino.”

Monopoly Casino to Take Over Virgin Casino Branding in New Jersey

The new name is yet to be implemented onto the official online casino website and all branding and signage of the past identity, “Virgin Casino” are to be removed. The rebranding, however, has come out of the blue.

Gamesys, which operates both Virgin Casino and Monopoly Casino, has not given any explicit reason as to why the move was necessary in the first place. In the meantime, users of the New Jersey Virgin Online Casino have nothing to worry about, as the onboarding process will be seamless.

The same login credentials will carry over from Virgin Casino to Monopoly Casino, allowing everyone to continue playing without interruption, never mind the short rebranding window.

Although much of the original casino will remain intact technically, there are some specific changes that are designed to underscore the new brand and name of the website.

For example, at Monopoly Casino, Virgin Casino users will get access to more Monopoly slot games, as well as special Monopoly rewards and a Monopoly VIP program.

No Reason Stated as Why the Rebranding Is Happening

There will be even more interesting activations available for players to discover for themselves when they log in and start looking around at the new front end.

However, the backend of the mobile app, as well as the Internet casino site, will remain mostly untouched, notwithstanding slight changes to the color theme and the new casino’s logo prominently placed instead of Virgin Casino’s own branding.

Virgin Casino is a true pioneer and one of the most iconic names in the Garden State’s online casino industry.

The original Internet casino launched in a partnership with Tropicana Atlantic City and received a license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to operate as a legitimate iGaming platform at a time when the idea was still novel in the United States.

New Jersey is presently home to more than 40 licensed online casinos available to residents to play. In the meantime, the Garden State is one of six in the United States to allow online casinos of any kind. New Jersey has had online casinos since 2013.
