Merit Casino switches to DRGT CMS and cashless solutions

One of the most beautiful destinations in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is Crystal Cove, home to one of the largest resorts on the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the region’s largest casino.

Straddling the Merit Royal, Merit Royal Premium and Merit Royal Diamond hotels, the Merit Casino boasts 1,200 machines and 80 tables, and it is here where DR Gaming Technology has facilitated the venue’s migration to its full casino management system (CMS) and cashless solution suite.

Nuh Yӧndem, Merit Group Slots Director, says: “Cyprus is an extremely competitive market with over 30 licensed casinos and, as a result, to remain competitive we need to offer the best possible experience on the island, something I believe we do really well.

“Our casino is part of this offering and in order to remain the formidable competitor we are, we needed an integrated casino management system that affords us the ability to not only manage our casino floor, but also the tools and functionality to engage and reward our casino players for making us their preferred choice.

“I believe DRGT now affords us the technology to do that.”

The installation comprises a two-phase approach. Phase 1 focussed solely on Merit Royal’s casino and included the upgrade of all slots to the company’s 8.8” drScreenUltra player tracking interface units, a full installation of both casino and cash desk management systems, cashless gaming, player loyalty and DRGTs drMediaManager technology.

This affords Merit Royal the ability to design, configure and deploy its own jackpots, bonus games and any still, video or streamed content to any selection of both drScreenUltra player interface units as well as all on-floor digital signage.

Andreas Duller, DRGTs Managing Director Austria, who oversaw the installation and drove the migration process, says: “With an average of around 3,000 unique visitors per day, and between 20,000 and 30,000 unique daily gaming sessions, Merit Royal really does put our technology to the test. Our reliability and robustness are key selling point, and what we managed to deliver at Merit Royal bears testament to that.

“I am extremely proud of what we have delivered to Nuh and his team.”

Phase 2 will leverage DRGTs Open Solution, which recognises that a CMS is no longer “just a casino management system”, and that in order to truly recognise and reward customers it needs to be able to assess their value across all touchpoints, not just slots and tables.

Andreas Duller adds: “The support, hospitality and genuine commitment to getting the job done on time and to the standards required from the team at Merit Royal was second to none.

Merit Royal is one of six Merit casinos in Cyprus and has around 4,000 slots. Add to these operations in Bulgaria, Montenegro and Croatia, and this initial installation could represent the start of a significant opportunity for DRGT across the Merit Group.
